"What's the definition of a good leader?"
This question did came into my mind and many people did ask me this question.
The definition from dictionary.com:
A person or thing that leads.
That's what I got from the dictionary, but personally, it's not so simple.
My definition of a good leader is someone who can gain the respect, the confidence of others in order to lead. If a leader is good, he/she is able to lead a team or group where everyone will listen. Being able to lead is not easy. A leader must not only be able to lead, he/she must also be flexible. What do I mean by a leader must be flexible? A leader must be flexible to think of a solution during a tensed up situation. But the solution should me a good, and safe one. A leader will then be a good one. A leader must also be able to motivate his/her team members. Even if a leader is tired, the leader should never give up in front of his/her members. If this happen, this is where the team will be break apart.
Leaders are trained, not born. Everyone can be trained to be a leader, but not everyone can be a good leader. Leadership is something that can be mastered easily, but if a person do not know how to use the power of a leader, things will go terribly wrong. When a leader abuse the power of it, people around will start to hate it.
To me, being a good leader is not an easy task, having to bear all the responsibility and taking care of the team members and also leading the team to finish the task on time. Not everyone can be a good leader, but everyone can be a leader in one way or another.
